I would like to thank our podcast for interviewing one of the incredible Senior Surgeons. Dr. Seyoum Kasa is an excellent surgeon from whom you learn punctuality, passion and professionalism.
I am always amazed by his dedication for patient care and always remember what he told me about the moment he chose to operate on a patient and saved her life while he was at the critical time of his life, at that time his mother has already passed away at the very moment but he went to help the patient swallowing his grief. What an amazing dedication!!
I have learned a lot from him, in particular I don’t forget the most striking moment of my life as a surgeon, the one he mentioned in his podcast interview https://youtu.be/lj0SaLupmzE about ‘the patient with gun shot wound to the heart’ which gave me a different view of surgery, and made me fearless.
Then after, I have operated on a patient who presented after a shot gun injury to his left chest with through and through right ventricular and colonic injury together with general surgeon and residents in Jimma. This is how you practically teach and influence your students!
Thank you Dr. Seyoum Kassa for your dedication to teach me, teach not only cardiothoracic surgery but also passion, dedication, discipline and made me love Surgery more!
”long live”
