Dr. Nebiyat Tesfaye from St. Peter specialized hospital has been awarded the Global Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Federation of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH).
He said: “As someone living with Spina Bifida, this award celebrates my lifetime achievements and recognizes my work at St. Peter’s specialized Hospital and with ReachAnother Foundation—advocating for children born with Spina Bifida and promoting folic acid food fortification worldwide, especially in Ethiopia.
Drawing from my personal and professional experiences, I founded a local charity, Alliance for Birth Defects (ABD), to help prevent, treat, and research birth defects in Ethiopia and beyond.”
