I am writing to express my gratitude to a dedicated health professional working in the government health sector. I want to thank Senior Nurse Tekalign at the Welate Health Center in Shaggar City, Furi Subcity.
Eight months ago, I fell ill and sought treatment at a well-known private hospital in the country. Initially, I was told that the medication would help with my condition. However, when my illness persisted and I returned for a follow-up, I was informed that I had tested positive for TB. I was advised to begin treatment at the health center mentioned above.
It was there that I connected with a remarkable health professional who is both committed and trustworthy. They fully understood my situation and welcomed me with such warmth that it felt as though my illness had already begun to lift, even before I started my medication. They encouraged me to begin treatment and took my phone number to check on my progress.
On the second day, at 1 AM, they called to ask, “How did you sleep? Make sure to take your medication and drink enough water afterward.” I immediately began taking my medication. Throughout that day, they frequently reached out to inquire about my progress, offering advice and encouragement, saying, “God is with you.”
Although the side effects of the medication were challenging, I felt supported. When I called them after 5 PM for help, they were there for me. Their compassion brought light into my life during a difficult time. Thanks be to God and to them; today I have returned to full health and am managing my life well.
Therefore, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude on behalf of myself and all the health professionals who serve us with dedication and integrity, often without compensation.
